An early day for team LVL Dressage. Laurens debuted with two horses, one in the Middle Tour and one in the Big Tour, and Deborah also debuted in the Middle Tour. Because of a horse with colic symptoms the prepraration went anything but smoothly. Eventually the team left fot the competition, but was too late there. Vonkenstein was first up, but was not fully prepared for his Grand Prix test. Despite of that Laurens was very pleased: “He did his best, he was very sweet, and despite of a few faults, he remained relaxed. This is something that makes me feel very positive.
The result was a score of 63.05%, where there is still a lot more to improve,
Then it was the turn of Zingar Northside, in the Intermediaire II. The very first time away from home, and what a character during the test! Laurens and ‘Ziggy’ showed an almost flawless test with beautiful piaffe and passage components. The somewhat disappointing score of 67.37% and 3rd place should not spoil the fun, because when looking back on video Laurens was extremely happy with his ride: “There has to be more stability and control in the test, but what a quality already!”
Deborah Vroegindeweij is looking to join the Grand Prix U25 and rode, as a necessary step, for the first time the intermediare B test. With a major failure in the deployment of the first piaffe and further across the board some awkwardness they eventually showed a very decent test. With 62.38% she has earned her entry for the Intermediaire II.
